A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after handing himself into police and claiming to have harmed a 32-year-old woman.
The woman was found stabbed to death at a house in Honor Oak in south-east London on Wednesday morning after the man went to a police station at 4.30am.
The Metropolitan police confirmed that the man had been arrested on suspicion of murder. He was taken hospital as a precaution and will be held in custody afterwards, the Met said.
