Putin hails “tact and rationality” of Iran’s retaliation against Israel

TEHRAN – Russian President Vladimir Putin has told his Iranian counterpart that Tehran’s response to Israel’s attack on its embassy in Damascus was the best that could be given, especially in the face of international inaction.  

“What the Islamic Republic of Iran did in response to this criminal act in the shadow of the inaction of the (UN) Security Council was the best way to punish the aggressor and a manifestation of the tact and rationality of Iran’s leaders,” Putin stated during a telephone conversation with Ebrahim Raisi on Monday.
